The results of online voting which started in July were revealed at the award ceremony held in the Magnet House in Budapest. The Tree of the Year 2019 title was won by the Freedom Tree in Kaposvár after an exciting competition, with 4331 votes, only three hundred ahead of the second-ranking Oak in Dunakiliti. The Hero's Tree title was awarded to the Old Warrior of Szentkút in Vasvár, while the Special Prize of the National Forestry Association was given to the Millennium Oak of Ziliz.
