In cooperation with many other civil society organizations, the 25-year-old Ökotárs Foundation launched a nationwide roadshow this October. The public events were aimed at promoting civic affairs, enhancing citizens' willingness for participation, as well as strengthening relationships and networking among locally-based and national organizations.
During the five events in Győr, Szeged, Pécs, Nyíregyháza and Debrecen, representatives of a wide variety of well-known and less well-known organizations presented their issues and outcomes briefly, such as fight against poverty, education, community participation, environmental protection, people living with disabilities or in the area of rule of law. Not only national, but also local issues affecting people directly in the cities have been debated, actively involving the audience in the form of forum discussions, thereby enabling direct connecting and engagement.
