With our initiative launched in early autumn, we aim at helping the strengthening and development of the CSO sector through the expansion of regional civil cooperation and networks. Our goal is to map and reach out to 'sprouts': those, primarily local organizations, groups and active communities which have not yet been part of the wider civil society 'circulation'. From the beginning of September to the end of the year Ökotárs's staff members met and interviewed a total of 48 civil society organizations and communities in 22 settlements (mostly in Transdanubia) to assess the potential of local and regional civic co-operation, needs and obstacles. Based on this we organized and will continue to organize forums, meetings and trainings for the contacted groups and their activists.
