The Local History Association 'Fodor Manó' created a "garden of traditions" by renovating the yard of an old peasant cottage in the neighbourhood of the country house in Battonya town. As part of the project, an outdoor furnace was built with a stove covered by a roof, and native fruit trees were planted, as the association wanted to introduce the inhabitants of Battonya to the old Hungarian fruit varieties. Local CSOs, schools, kindergartens can use the garden for relaxation and activities, too. The Country House thus preserves traditions and old customs, serving Battonya as a lively community space.
