115 applications were submitted to the Green Belt program's 2017 call, 29 of them - more than twice as much as last year - came from condominium houses, the rest from CSOs. 59 of them were selected by the four-member Grants Committee to submit a detailed application for the second phase. Applicants were invited to take part in a one-day-long training at the beginning of January 2018 that introduced the techniques of community planning and participation, as these are key elements of a successful application: the project must be implemented with the active cooperation of the local people, the future beneficiaries.
